Bridging the gap by providing information and resources to help victims/families trying to deal with the aftermath of violent death, undetermined deaths, and attempted homicides.

NIA/NM , as a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization, is by definition a publicly funded corporation. As such we are supported by a diverse list of funding sources described below and viewers like YOU. We provide our services without charge to our victim clients.

NIA/NM currently enjoys a major grant from the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission, which supports the bulk of our operating budget. We also are the beneficiary of a smaller grant from the McCune Foundation aimed at improving our presence statewide and assuring fiscal accountability as a 501 (C)(3) organization. We will pursue other grants to support expanding victim services. Grants often require a substantial level of matching support from public sources — both cash and in-kind services.

In-kind Services:

An important source of “funding” is a variety of services provided pro-bono to NIA/NM victim clients, mostly by professional individuals, in support of our mission. Some of the in-kind services that we are currently benefiting from are:

  • Attorney Services
  • Counseling Services
  • Language Translating Services
Paid Services:

NIA/NM is also a licensed non-profit investigations agency operating in New Mexico since 1985. These services produce revenue that supplements grants and public donations, both cash and in-kind donations. Our purpose is to provide professional investigation and legally gathered information services at an affordable cost. Some of these services are:

  • Pre-Employment and Tenant Screening
  • Background Investigations
  • Business Services Programs
Fundraising and Cash Donations

NIA/NM conducts a variety of fundraising events during the year and enjoys substantial cash contributions from our Board and from loyal public supporters. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your gifts & donations are tax deductible.
